Blaze Game Engine
Gallery
Blaze is a first person and third person game engine that is
designed to do everything.Although the project is still underway, It has gone far since it was started. Currently,
the engine supports many new aspects like the ability to land on a planet without a loading screen.
This engine still has a long way to go, however, and a release date has not yet been set. This project was
mostly started as a hobby when I was twelve. Of course, since I wasn't a very good programmer then, I was
having problems, first with getting graphics onto the screen, then the camera control, and so
on.
This project has officially been put on hold in favor of a new project "Cluster OS," however source code of
current version is available. Because this is not the final release, the code is not stable, optimized, or fast in any way,
it just exists. Also, this project is being completely redesigned because of "Infinity the Quest for Earth." They
beat me to finishing the idea. Currently I am thinking about breaking out of the third dimension and into the nth
dimension... but it will be a while before this idea gets anywhere, especially with ClusterOS in the making.
Version 0.7 has been released. This includes a geodesic approach to the planet modeling. I am not going to be
working on the next version for a little while. Instead I am going to be working on rendering HDR lighting, grass,
and trees on a simple heightmap. I will also be working on basic game physics and a plotline. Once I am done with that,
I will release it here and begin working on version 0.8. Hopefully in 0.8, everything should start to come together.
